Grilled Santa Barbara Prawns || Garlic-Coconut Curry, Chard Vegetables, Grilled Lemon, Herb Baste. Paired with 2022 Syrah Rosé.
Fillet De Beuf || Grilled Angus Fillet Mignon, Point Reyes Cream, Lions Mane Ravioli. Paired with 2021 Malbec.

MEET THE CHEF
Formally trained at Le Cordon Bleu and apprenticed under Master Chef Rene VanBrokhuisen, Chef Ben developed Tacos El Chapin, a popular pop-up taqueria, and serves as the Director of Culinary Innovation at CBD Cuisine Consulting Services. He has been the top toque at some of Southern California’s finest hotels and restaurants, including Luxe City Center in Downtown Los Angeles, JW Marriott Santa Monica, The Omni Hotel San Diego, and Areal Restaurant in Santa Monica. He has also acted as a consulting chef for esteemed hospitality brands both domestically and internationally, including West Hollywood’s Toca Madera, Zimbali Retreats in Negril, Jamaica, and Farahat Co. in Dubai, UAE. Additionally, he authored a culinary reference book titled From a Cook to a Professional Chef.
An esteemed professional, Chef Ben holds several certifications, including Master Certified Food Executive and Certified Food & Beverage Executive. He is an active board member of the Chefs de Cuisine Association of California and has been inducted into the Les Amis d’Escoffier Society and the World Master Chefs Society. He is also a brand ambassador for Cambro and Lumina Farms.
Never one to shy away from a challenge, Chef Ben has appeared on various television shows, including Food Network’s Chef Wanted and Cutthroat Kitchen, as well as The Cooking Channel’s Farmers Market Flip, where he was crowned the winner. His other accolades include being the 2020 World Food Championship Winner for Best Mojo Recipe and Best Home-Cooked Meal, 2019 Western Regional Golden Toque Winner, Chefs de Cuisine Association of California’s Cutting-Edge Award Winner in 2019, Chef of the Year in 2018, Best Latin Chef at the Latin Food Fest in 2018, and most recently, ACF Los Angeles Professional Chef of the Year 2023 and Local’s Choice Award Best Chef Temecula 2024. — corkfirekitchen.com
